Welcome to 8th Grade English

Team Justice

Welcome to 8th grade at Arcola Intermediate School! This is my fifteenth year teaching at Arcola and time has sure flown by! Arcola is a fun place to be, and I'm so fortunate to be a part of this family.  As you can probably tell from my photos, I am crazy about the Florida Gators! "Why", you ask? That is because I graduated from The University of Florida with both my bachelors and masters degrees.  I taught elementary school, grades 3-5, in Kissimmee, Florida to start my career.  After two years there, my family moved to Starkville, Mississippi, where I taught grades 1-2 for three years.  Before beginning my new adventure in middle school in 2010, I spent several years at home with my children.

My family is a Methacton family as well.  My oldest son is a 2014 graduate of MHS and a graduate of Penn State University (Chemistry).  He now works full time for a large pharmaceutical company.  My middle daughter is a 2019 graduate and works full-time in the community, and my youngest son is a senior and plays basketball at the high school.  We are proud to be a part of this great community and school district.  I am also mom to our hilarious canines named Cooper and Biggie (Smalls)! (And one more thing...Mrs. Roberts is my little sister.)

Some fun things to know about me, and if you are a Philadelphia sports fan, you may not like.  I grew up in Brooklyn, New York as part of an avid Yankees family!  So, you guessed it, I'm a Yankees fan! I am traditionally a Knicks fan as well, although I do root for the Sixers. My family was not into football, so I don't really have an allegiance to the New York teams, and have therefore, become an Eagles fan. Even though I enjoy NFL football, it doesn't hold a candle to college football in my eyes. My favorite thing to do besides watch football, is to watch my children in all of their activities.  My oldest is a musician and I have spent many hours at concerts and marching band calvacades.  My other two children are athletes, and I spent and continue to spend lots of time driving them to and from practices and competitions (gymnastics, diving, pole vaulting, track, basketball, tennis, lacrosse, football and baseball).  It is hectic, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Here's to a great year! I'm looking forward to getting to know more about you! :-)
