Welcome to The World of Challenge!!
Methacton School District Elementary Gifted Program Newsletter Fall 2016
Dear Parents:
Welcome back! We hope that you have had an exciting yet relaxing summer! As most of you know, the Elementary Challenge teachers have been working collaboratively for several years to ensure that all of your children will venture to Skyview and beyond with similar experiences, knowledge, and skills. We all look forward to working together once again in order to continue to motivate your children and cultivate their innate curiosity.
Some events to look forward to within the Challenge Program this year will be the 3rd Grade Talent Show, the 4th Grade Aerodynamics field trip to the American Helicopter Museum, and the 3rd Grade Invention field trip to Mercer Museum. The units that will be covered in grades three and four are listed in the chart below. Because topics of study for grades K-2 arebased upon individual student interests, primary units covered will vary from school to school.

We would like to thank you, the parents, for your support of your children and their Challenge Program endeavors. During the first few weeks of school, we will be having conferences with your children in order to discuss their G.I.E.P goals and will be asking the children to discuss their goals and action plans with you.
As professionals who care a great deal about your children and their learning, we are constantly striving to make the Challenge Program the best that it can be. Should you have any questions or concerns that you would like addressed, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher at the main district phone number: (610)489-5000. The individual extensions for each school’s main office are listed below. The schools’ secretaries will be happy to locate us if we are available or take a message if needed. Please know that we will return your calls as soon as possible.
We are looking forward to another fantastic year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Elizabeth Santucci Mrs. Alonna Johnson
