• Project Update - September 18, 2015

It was great to share last week that our auxiliary field is complete and ready for practice and play! Since that time, we have had several practices and our boys’ soccer team christened the turf by winning 5-0 versus Perkiomen Valley! I encourage our community to look to the district’s athletic website at http://www.methactonwarriors.org/ for upcoming game times.

With this news comes more good news. Resulting from recent construction discussions, it was determined that the Stadium Field will begin getting sand and infill late this week with anticipation of that being completed mid next week. This, we are told by the contractor that track refinishing work will remain on the current schedule to be substantially completed by October 2, 2015.

A map of ADA accessible pathways to our softball fields was also recently completed. The map below shows the locations of these pathways. These locations will be marked with signage in the near future.

The field lighting remains in the Court of Common Pleas. While it was reported that there has been some activity, there is no clear resolution before us. If we have a result soon, it could save the district a substantial amount of money and time by installing them now versus at a time once fencing and grass and track work are completed. As a reminder, the synthetic turf and lights, together make this a safe, playable environment for our students, marching band, and athletes. It also addresses the field shortage allowing for up to three plays an evening. The day will come when we have lights.

As a reminder, there is a Beef and beverage event scheduled for Saturday, October 3 to support the fields! Please go to www.methacton.org/warriorevent and purchase your tickets today.

Also—SAVE THE DATE - Ribbon Cutting Ceremony planned for October 24, 2015 along with first ever Methacton Homecoming Parade. More details to follow!
