Jerry Thompson, Assistant Principal

  • Mr. Gerald (Jerry) Thompson joined the Methacton School District as Arcola Assistant Principal in February of 2018.

     

    Mr. Thompson earned his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Drexel University, and went on to teach secondary math at Girard College High School in Philadelphia and Pennsauken High School in New Jersey.  During his time as a stay-at-home father for two and a half years, he attended graduate school and attained a Master's Degree from St. Joseph's University in Educational Leadership.  Mr. Thompson served as Assistant Principal at Pottsgrove Middle School, and later Sandy Run Middle School in Upper Dublin School District before being transferred to the position of Assistant Principal at Upper Dublin High School for eight years. 

     

    Mr. Thompson currently resides in Pottsgrove with his wife Michelle and their three sons - James, Jeremy, and Jack.  He is an active community volunteer, serving as an Assistant Softball Coach at Ursinus College for many years and as a youth baseball, soccer, and basketball coach.
