• All About Mr. McDonough

My undergraduate degree came from Villanova. My graduate degree in Special Education was received from Penn State. In addition, I have several years of background working with students 1 on 1 in the home and school setting.
I was recognized as the Regional Teacher of the Year by Walmart and our school received a substantial grant from them.
I was an active Leader in Boy Scouts for 7 years. Also, I have spent 10 years working with 3 boys connected with the Big Brothers organization. Presently, I have a little brother too. I run the Woodland Chess Club, with the help of parent volunteers, which meets  twice monthly on Thursdays after school in the library. Please see me for a schedule or more information.
Some of my interests include gardening, fishing, traveling, hiking, whitewater rafting, collecting minerals/fossils and hunting.
I try to use science and nature in the classroom in many different ways to keep the students interest and attention while they are learning.
I have two children, that I am very proud of, who attended Methacton.
My wife teaches Special Education in another district, and has done so successfully for many years.
