    Author Jon Scieszka created and funds this site. He has created a web-based literacy program to attract the male readers by recommending books that appeal to boys. The website also has activities and descriptions of books. It does contain a list of the author's works, a mission statement, and information about starting a Guys Read group with the author's permission.

    Bookhive was designed as a guide to children's literature for K-6 grades. The site has activities, read alouds, and reviews of literature currently in the libraries. Reviews are written by a team of librarians from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library who created the site.
    bookadventure
    this is a free reading motivational program for students in grades K-8. Children are encouraged to create booklists and take quizzes to earn points and prizes.

    the American Library Association has created a user friendly site allowing students to read descriptions of the latest (and all) of the Newbery/Caldecott award winning books. The site also contains information for parents and a list of websites to encourage student reading.
