•  Meet the Principal

     

    Brian G. Shaffer began his career with Methacton School District in August 2019 as the principal of Worcester Elementary School.  Prior to joining our team, Mr. Shaffer served as an elementary principal in Pennsbury and Philadelphia School Districts.  He began his teaching career as a fourth grade teacher in Richmond, Virginia. After six years inside the classroom, Mr. Shaffer assumed the role of an instructional specialist, serving as a key point of contact for instruction in all content areas and providing direct assistance to teachers through lesson demonstration, observation, constructive feedback, and coaching.  In 2011, Mr. Shaffer accepted a position as an assistant principal at a middle school inside the city. A year later, he was promoted to his first principal position at James R. Ludlow School. Most recently, Mr. Shaffer served as the principal of Fallsington Elementary School which is located in Bucks County.

     

    During his tenure in Pennsbury, Mr. Shaffer served as a member of the District’s Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) committee and assisted with the implementation of MTSS throughout the district.  He collaborated with his school based team to introduce their School Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) program to both students and families. Under Mr. Shaffer’s leadership, Fallsington Elementary was recognized as both a State and National School of Character and the school community was awarded six promising practices from Character.org for their work in promoting character development.  

     

    Mr. Shaffer obtained his bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a certification in elementary education from Muhlenberg College.  He holds a Master’s in Educational Administration from Gwynedd-Mercy, where he also received his principal certification. He lives in Springfield Township with his partner of twelve years and their three children.  Mr. Shaffer is excited to continue his career with Methacton and looks forward to collaborating with the Worcester learning community to continue providing students with a high quality education within a safe and supportive environment.
