    Dear Honors Precalculus student,

Together we are about to begin a journey that will serve to solidify your mathematics foundation, enabling you to confidently enter the realm of collegiate mathematics.  This will no doubt be a challenging, but profitable year for both of us (as we explore these higher order concepts together).  After reviewing where I want to take you, I have selected the following topics to review from Algebra II/Trig – these are the areas that come September, you will be held accountable for knowing.

Upon your return we will spend the first week getting acclimated and testing on the review material.  While completion of this work is not mandatory, it is expected that you will know this material.  Because it is considered review, I would highly recommend completing this review, as well as reviewing your notes from geometry and algebra II/trig.  As noted above, upon our return in September you will be tested on review material from your Algebra II/Trig course and these grades will be your first of the new school year.  Make sure you get off to a good start by coming prepared in September!!!!!

I suggest that you may want to work together in study groups as this will work to your advantage if there are some topics that you may have forgotten.  It might also be a more enjoyable way to accomplish the task at hand!

As stated above, this is the minimum requirement – it is expected you will be competent in all concepts they cover.

If you need to contact me this summer – my email is nryan@methacton.org – I will not have the opportunity to check daily and will be unavailable during portions of the summer.  However, I will get back to you eventually so continue to work hard.  Good luck and I look forward to meeting and working with all of you in September!!!
