PHEAA Booklet on Navigating A College Fair

The attached resource is presented by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and can be used as a tool to prepare for College Fair visits. College Fairs can be very overwhelming when you walk in and see close to 200 colleges and universities there.  Being prepared ahead of time and having an idea of which colleges  you want to see prior to entering the arena will be very helpful.  Students should also come prepared with advanced registration informionat (if required) or with pre-typed labels including their name, address, telephone number, email address, high school name, graduation year, and major of interest.

 Example:
Suzie Student
123 Apple Lane
Audubon, PA 19403
484-123-4567
student@gmail.com
Methacton High School '16
Biology or Chemistry

By having these labels done in advance, the student will be able to stick the label on the information cards and then spend the time talking to the college rep vs. filling out the form and then walking away. Some of the larger college fairs (example the NACAC fair in Philadelphia) are requiring students to register in advance and then they are given a bar code to have scanned when they are speaking wiht the representatives at the fair.
