Math Checklist

Kindergarten Math Checklist

The information included on this checklist is assessed on a continuous record of growth.

This includes daily class participation, teacher observation, and oral/written activities and formal assessments.

 

By January, students should be able to:

-         count forward from 0 to 50

-         relate a set of objects to a numeral up to 10

-         write numbers in sequence legibly to 10

-         read 2-digit numbers in mixed order to at least 10

-         count to tell the number of objects to 10

-         compare numbers and quantities to 10

 

By June, students should be able to:

-         maintain and continue with above skills

-         count forward by 1s from a number other than 0 or 1 up to 100

-         read 2 digit numbers in mixed order to at least 20

-         count by 10s to 100

-         write numbers in sequence legibly to 20

-         count to tell the number of objects to 20

-         compare numbers and quantities to 20

-         extend the concepts of putting together and taking apart to add and subtract within 10

-         begin to develop the concept of place value by working with 2-digit numbers

-         identify and describe 2 and 3 dimensional shapes

-         analyze, compare, create, and compose 2 and 3 dimensional shapes

-         describe and compare measurable attributes of objects

-        classify objects and count the number of objects in each category
