Dr. Judy Gallagher-Landis

Hi, I am Judy Gallagher-Landis and am in the midst of my 1st year as the assistant principal of Skyview Upper Elementary School. I spent 10 years as the principal of Methacton High School. I started teaching at the high school in 1996 and lived through many changes over my 21-year tenure!

Methacton was not my first post. I came here the long way through substitute teaching, working in business, and teaching for a couple of years in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. When furloughed following a tumultuous contract negotiation, I found myself subbing again and landed a position with a non-profit providing alternative education to Emotional Support students aged 13 to 19. Their academic levels ranged from grade 2 to post high school and we never had more than 26 in our school at one time. It was quite a task to differentiate for that group!

Once I got to Methacton in 1996, I taught English, became the Department Chair, and later became an assistant principal in the building. I held that position for only two years before being named the principal; a post I held for 10 years. This new position at Skyview has been an exciting change! The developmental level in addition to learning curricula and methodologies that are both familiar and different has been an exciting change. I find myself embedded in trying to monitor and respond to our unsupervised areas of transportation and our cafeteria for the majority of the time.

Currently working under the 6th superintendent of my administrative tenure, I find the challenges have grown exponentially over the last decade, but I still enjoy the people I work with across the district and the progress we continue to make together as a team.
