To explore the three major AP Studio Art portfolios: Develop a personal Concentration of 12 pieces, Demonstrate a breadth of high quality work of 12 pieces. Discuss and record development of Concentration.
To have the students become more knowledgeable about the components that come together to create successful works of art through mastery of concepts, composition and execution of ideas.
To emphasize making art as an ongoing process that involves the student in informed and critical decision making to develop ideation.
Homework assignments will be assigned throughout this course. Due dates will be established for each assignment followed by a critique on that due date. Students will be asked to present and participate in critiques using art vocabulary terms.
Viewing the work of master artists will also be a part of this course. Students will be asked to write a response to the art work using the following format: Describe, analysis, interpretation, judgment or evaluation. Student will also participate in group discussion to talk about the artwork.
