• Arriving to school

    • Students are to arrive at school by 8:55 a.m. and are marked late after 9:05 a.m.
    • No student should be at school before 8:55 a.m.
    • Parents are not to double-park when dropping off or picking up children.  This is a safety hazard.
    • For the safety of our children, please do not park on the playground area parking lot.

    REMINDERS

    • All parents picking up/dropping off students should enter the lot at Heatherwood Hills Road and follow the procession to the curbside in front of the door.
    • DO NOT PARK IN THE CENTER OF THE PARKING LOT TO DROP OFF/PICK UP STUDENTS.  This presents a serious safety concern!
    • At the start of the school day, the car loop door will be opened by a staff member from 8:55 to 9:05AM. If the door is closed when you arrive, you must drive to the main entrance and sign your child in at the office.
    • Keep in mind that students arrive to the gym at various times at dismissal.  Car loop numbers are posted in the gym so students can be dismissed promptly when their car is in position.
    • If your child is not present when you pull up to the curbside, please pull as far forward as possible to wait in your car alongside the playground.  Your child will then be sent to your car when they arrive at car loop.
    • Please allow students to enter the car from the passenger’s side only, as students should NOT walk between cars.
    • DO NOT SPEED. Be careful maneuvering around other cars as you exit the car loop line.  Drive slowly and watch for other cars pulling out.
    • If you are picking up a large group or need to fasten a child restraint, please move as far forward as possible alongside the playground, so as not to disrupt the car loop.
    • If students are not picked up by 3:40 PM, they will be taken to the Main Office to wait to be picked up.  Please make every effort to pick up students on time.

    • IF EVERY DRIVER WOULD DEMONSTRATE PATIENCE BY WAITING FOR THE FIRST CAR IN LINE TO PICK UP/DROP OFF THEIR CHILD AND LEAVE, EACH SUBSEQUENT DRIVER COULD MOVE UP TO THE “FIRST” POSITION MORE QUICKLY AND SAFELY.

Student safety is a priority! Your cooperation is expected and appreciated to help us ensure the safety of every one of our Woodland children.  Thank you.
