    RESPONSIBLE HEALTH BEHAVIORS

     

    I.  PURPOSE STATEMENT

     
    The purpose of the health education programis to favorably affect the attitudes and practices of the students. Theultimate goal of this class is for students to understand that the potentialfor optimal living is, in large measure, dependent upon developing appropriateattitudes based on sound knowledge and translating them into intelligent healthdecisions. Our hope is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle that will last farbeyond the experience in this class.

    III.     COURSEREQUIREMENTS

                 A.     MAINTAIN A NOTEBOOK, TO BE BROUGHT TO EVERYCLASS.

                 B.     GRADE EVALUATION WILL BE BASED ON POINTTOTALS ACCUMULATED ON QUIZZES, TESTS,

                         HOMEWORK, PROJECTS ANDNOTEBOOKS ETC.

    C.      IFYOU ARE ABSENT, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASKING ABOUT MISSED WORK OR TESTS. MAKEUP WORK NOT COMPLETED DURING THE PRESCRIBED TIME WILL BE GRADED AS FAILING.

                 D.     ONE ARTICLE CRITIQUE WILL BE ASSIGNED ASHOMEWORK DURING EACH MARKING PERIOD.

                         ARTICLES MUST DEAL WITHSUBJECT MATTER.

                 E.     EXTRA CREDIT WORK MAY BE AVAILABLE EACHMARKING PERIOD.

                 F.     A SPECIAL PROJECT WILL BE DUE DURING THESEMESTER.

                 G.     NO FOOD, GUM OR BEVERAGES IN CLASS!!

                 H.     WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT HEALTH ENTER THE ROOMAND SIT IN YOUR SEAT.  DO NOT STAY INTHE

                         HALLWAY.
