• Ceramic Art I
    Prerequisite: None

Artwork in clay has been in existence nearly as long as human beings themselves. This medium, rich in history and culture, is the foundation on which the Ceramic Art courses at Methacton High School are being taught. Today, thousands of potters around the world are using hundreds of techniques to create beautiful and functional pottery. Some of this rich history, hand building techniques and ceramic firing procedures will be taught in Ceramic Art 1, and as a student progresses, he or she will be introduced to the potter’s wheel. The advanced Ceramic Art student is encouraged to move on to Ceramic Art 2.
