    Recommendations: 80% average in Algebra II or higher, 80% average in Visual Basic II or teacher approval
     
    This course is designed for students interested in a rigorous course in computer science that includes instruction in Java.  Computer Science A emphasizes programming methodology with a concentration on problem solving and algorithm developement and is meant to be the equivalent of a first-semester college course is Computer Science.
