• MHS Hosts Model UN Conference

methacton model un Congratulations to MHS's Model UN students.  On Saturday February 11th, they hosted their first conference in approximately 15 years. The opening ceremonies included a lecture from keynote speaker, Dr. Johannes Karreth.  Dr. Karreth is a professor at Ursinus College in the Department of Politics and International Relations.  He spoke about many UN-related topics, and about the role and effectiveness of UN Peacekeepers.  He discussed proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and pointed out how many things have improved since the United Nations' inception.  The world still faces many challenges, but he explained how worldwide literacy has improved, poverty has decreased and infant mortality rates have improved.

Methacton's students dressed for success, acted very professionally and represented Methacton well!  Several of the students chaired the various committees, and along with three other schools, also actively participated in the committees.  The students showed incredible impartiality as they evaluated their peers. Methacton PRIDE!
