The Office of School and Community Information

  • The primary goal of the Office of Communications and Community Information is to support the district by coordinating internal and external communications and media relations. Other responsibilities include managing the district’s website, providing crisis communications and overall support of the district's educational and organizational goals through effective communications with all district stakeholders.

    About the Coordinator

Amanda Kelly joined Methacton School District as Coordinator of School and Community Information in January 2019. She is a communications professional with more than 12 years of experience in the television news industry. Amanda’s broadcasting career began during her senior year while studying Broadcast Journalism at Temple University. She was granted an internship at CBS 3 Eyewitness News in Philadelphia, and from there, her career spanned across several leadership and supporting roles within the company.

It didn’t take her long to create meaningful connections within our school community and present a positive image of the district to the world. During Amanda’s first week on the job, she was able to secure media coverage when Woodland Elementary students and staff presented a supportive message on the campus field ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles’ playoff run. Since then, she has coordinated or developed many other exciting ways to showcase our district and keep our stakeholders informed. Amanda is a thrilled to have the opportunity to work and connect with our district’s students, parents, teachers, staff, and community. Methacton is educating and nurturing our future generation.  She invites you to send stories her way!
