    Apollo 11 When Man First Walked on the Moon

         On July 20th, 1969 humans made their first steps onto the Moon.  This show, produced by the Jenk’s Planetarium, will walk through the events leading up to that historic day and what happened once we were on the Moon.  Although it is only ‘one small step into understanding’ the implications of this historic event, it will be ‘one giant leap’ for your entertainment.  

     Forward to the Moon

         After this summer’s 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission landing on the Moon you may be wondering; “Why haven’t we gone back?” Join planetarium director Adam Chantry as he discusses how we choose to go to the moon and NASA’s future plans for returning.  After being revived in July of 2017, the National Space Council had its first meeting in October 2017 and worked on what would become White House Space Policy Directive 1.

    This directive calls for "... an innovative and sustainable program of exploration with commercial and international partners to enable human expansion across the solar system and to bring back to Earth new knowledge and opportunities.”

     

    Moon Witch Halloween Show - Come in Costume!!

        This traditional style (stop animation) Planetarium classic follows Billy and Diana out on Halloween night. The moon and some of its illusions come into question as the children partake in “trick or treating” for the evening. Discussed are lunar features, how the moon appears to change phase and a myriad of information about Earth’s only natural satellite.  This show is seen by all of our 2nd Graders on their day-time field trips and has been entertaining Methacton Families for many years!

    Moons: Worlds of Mystery immerses you in the amazing diversity of moons and tells the story of their important role in shaping our solar system. Follow in the footsteps of astronauts to our Moon, and then venture beyond to unfamiliar and exotic worlds: the outer planets and their moons. We’ll return home with new-found wonder about the dynamic and intricate solar system in which we all live

     

    Galileo’s View of the Universe

    Although Galileo did not invent the telescope, he was the first to point it to the sky and make detailed observations.  Galileo, along with his new tool, helped to unravel some of the fundamental understanding we have of our universe. Planetarium director Adam Chantry help to show you what Galileo saw through his telescope and how that helped him to see the universe in new ways.
